“Harper”
The Leigh Sakoda foundation celebrated the holidays by making a very important grant to a 22 year old woman who was diagnosed with a very rare bone tumor earlier this year. She has had to undergo three surgeries and moved to the east coast for several months to seek additional radiation therapy. She works full time in a restaurant and has not been able to work for many months due to the complexity of her care. She has no financial assistance beyond unemployment and she struggles to pay her medical bills in the face of a very difficult prognosis.
