The Leigh Sakoda Foundation celebrated the 3 year anniversary of Leigh's death by making a very important grant to a 30 year old woman in Northern California who was diagnosed with a very rare sarcoma (Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma). This patient had to quit her job when she was diagnosed, and her husband had to reduce his working hours from full-time to part-time in order to help with the treatment regimen. They struggle to pay for household bills and uncovered medical expenses. In particular, they have fallen behind on their rent in order to cover the substantial monthly co-pay for her medication. She is being treated at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
