“Moona”
The Leigh Sakoda Foundation celebrated Father’s Day by making a very important grant to a 19 year old woman in New Jersey who has had a longstanding fight with Ewing’s Sarcoma (cancer of the bone) for several years. She lives with her parents and neither has employer provided health insurance, resulting in a significant financial burden for a family that must pay a significant amount of her treatment out of pocket. The family’s savings have been fully depleted and everything the family earns must go to covering basic expenses, including transportation to her chemotherapy and radiation appointments. She has earned a full scholarship to college if she can fight and win against this form of cancer.
