“Jaquelyn”

The Leigh Sakoda Foundation celebrated Father’s Day by making a very important grant to a 28 year old woman with an extremely rare condition called Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), which has led to very late stage colon cancer. She is a single mother of two boys, ages 7 and 4, and lives with her mother, her niece, and her nephew. She has had to undergo a colectomy and many rounds of chemotherapy. Her medical bills are not completely covered by Medicaid, and her food and grocery expenses have increased significantly due to her severely restricted diet. This grant will cover rent, ileostomy supplies, and food expenses.
